Sunday at Venner

Sunday has a rhythm all of its own.

The week has ended. The next has not quite begun. There are a few precious hours where the pace softens, conversations linger a little longer, and the only real decision is where to spend them.

We think the table is a good place to start.

Our brunch follows the same philosophy as our evening menu: seasonal produce, thoughtful cooking, and enough restraint to let great ingredients speak for themselves.

It begins with a pair of delicate savoury tarts. Crisp pastry shells carrying bold, concentrated flavours in just a few bites. Alongside them, something cured, rich and finely balanced, perhaps kissed by the hibachi before it reaches the table, adding just enough smoke to deepen the flavour without overwhelming it.

Then comes something bread-based. Dense enough to stand up to a generous spoonful of sauce and, more importantly, something you'll instinctively use to gather every last drop from the plate.

From there, the meal builds towards a main course that reminds you brunch can be so much more than avocado on toast. Something generous, deeply satisfying, and worth slowing down for.

And finally, something sweet. Not because it is expected, but because it feels like the only fitting way to finish.

Filter coffee flows throughout the morning, while those looking to stretch Sunday a little further can settle in with a boozy brunch and nowhere else to be.

The menu is designed to unfold at an unhurried pace. Each course making way for the next, each conversation given the time it deserves.

That, to us, is what Sunday is for.
